DREAM/CLONE’S SOPHOMORE RECORD, TRANSYMPHONIC, AVAILABLE NOW!

For fans of: Kanye West, Daft Punk, The Roots, Gorillaz, Fort Minor

Building on the success of 2004’s debut Future Holds Nothing, Dream/Clone emerges as a pioneering act in hip hop fusion with their critically acclaimed record Transymphonic.

(New York, NY – January 2008) For those tired of the stagnation of mainstream hip hop, New York City based Dream/Clone brings a refreshing new release to a genre that, in recent years, has become dangerously close to feeling manufactured. Rather than boasting about their bling or offering dance instructions, Dave Stasiak Brett Richey, and Ghanaian rapper Nkozi bring verses with depth; artfully expressing their acute sensibilities as songsmiths with tracks touching on subjects like the struggles of relationships or the realities of having to settle when perfect girl doesn’t come along. Yet Transymphonic has range, as influences like Eminem and Dr. Dre add a sense of the raw, passionate aggression that divides rap from hip hop. And of course, many of the catchy beats still leave something for the dance floor.

When recording the album in his home studio, Dave Stasiak - a music theory and composition major in college - already had many of the album’s beats developed as sections of larger symphonic works. They also use a great deal of instrumentation on top of the synth beats. In fact, nothing on Transymphonic is sampled, which often comes as a pleasant surprise to critics and listeners alike. Throughout, Richey’s lightning-fast flow and Nkozi’s dynamic sound compliment Stasiak’s uncanny ability as a composer/producer. The trio masterfully blends complex rhyme schemes with elements of rap, classical, jazz, and techno to create a truly versatile album. Dream/Clone’s Transymphonic appeals to a wide audience, especially fans of Kanye West, Daft Punk, The Roots, Gorillaz, or Fort Minor.
